At what age can you start working in California?

Ok well I'm 13 and I will be 14 next month, and since its summer i thought I should get a job? I want a job because I want to buy my own clothes and stuff and sometimes my mom doesn't get me what I want. She doesn't even want me to work but I want to! So I live In fremont, Ca and I wanted to know what age can you start working here? I would do those small jobs like babysitting, ect except I don't know anyone who would want me to or mow there lawn. I really want a job in the summer! Please help! Thanks! :)
