Information about Curfew Laws??!?

I'm 16 going going on 17 at this age I have a question about curfew laws. I don't have a curfew never had though and also I'm emancipated. But all my friends like to hang late night at the hub. There a lot of high school students out at night and the question is do the police really enforce curfew laws. Btw I live fremont. Is it that the police don't care or there's curfew law here. Is it that we're almost old enough to make decisions that the police don't care. For example me and a lot of kids at my skool were hanging at a 24-hour coffeehouse and 2 cops came by and saw a lot of kids smoking ciggs at 1am. And they said hi. Anyways back to the point do they have curfew laws in fremont or the cops don't give crap?
