What are Seattle's safest non-suburban areas?
I'm considering a move to Seattle. I would be doing this however sight unseen. I'm 38, single, and experienced enough with city living to know how to avoid obviously risky areas but would still like advice being that I've never been to Seattle. I am told that for suburbs the safest are Ballard, Queen Anne, Fremont, and Wallingford. My intention is to live in the city where things are much more accessible. My thought is Belltown because it's trendy and I still enjoy nightlife. Sure any urban downtown area may have crime but it's usually not violent but instead things such as car theft. Can anyone tell me about the overall safety in Belltown (crime rate, police patrol frequency, etc.) or other trendy, urban neighborhoods in Seattle?
