Can a Jewish person believe in Jesus as the Messiah?

Yes, the first Christians were Jews. Jesus 12 disciples were all Jews. The word Jew has 2 meanings. It either means 1. a descendant of Abraham or 2. a person who practices Judaism. Any person, regardless of their ethnicity can put their faith in Jesus. And yes, Jesus is the Messiah who was prophecied in the Old Testament.
